Visiting Emilyn

Steven and I visited Emilyn last night at her house. Mrs. Sally cooked dinner for us (per Steven's request) and we had a fun night. Emilyn is so tiny! It's been so long since I've had a tiny new niece that I forgot just how small they are! Here are some pics of her last night in her swing. She is just so sweet.

Hibiscus In Our Yard

Every Spring, Mr. Woody brings us tons of flowers for our yard. He loves flowers and loves bringing us things for the yard. Steven also loves flowers and working in the yard. Here are some pics of our beautiful Hibiscus bushes. We have a red and a pink one. They love sun and heat and are relatively easy to take care of. ( Notice I don't take care of them. Maybe this is why I think they are easy!) Anyway, enjoy the pics.

Mac's 9th Birthday

Sunday was Mac's 9th birthday. It's hard to believe that he is already nine. It seems like he should only be about five to me. We had a family party at his house Sunday evening and these are some pics from the party. I am sad because lately I've been noticing Gracie and Mac don't like to play with me anymore. They have friends and are totally focused on them especially Gracie. I asked her to spend the night with me last night and she didn't want to leave her friends. She even asked if Rivers, her very dear friend, could come with her and stay later in the week. Boo hoo. These babies aren't babies anymore! I guess its a good thing I am having a baby because Gracie and Mac are breaking my heart! Enjoy the pics.

Emilyn McLain DeWaard

We have a new baby in our family! Emilyn McLain DeWaard arrived at 1:03 p.m. today. She weighed 7 lbs 3 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. She is just perfect and we already love her so much. I didn't think I would love her so much since little Peggy has kept me so preocupied but I must say she is so precious and I love her so much! I'll post pics tomorrow. I left the house today without the camera. Leave that up to pregnancy brain.!

34 Weeks and Eating Out of Control!

Today we hit the 34 week mark. I must say I am beginning to feel different. I am so sleepy sometimes but other times feel completely normal. Today, I took a two hour nap. That is so unlike me! I can never sleep! Additionally, I am either starving or not hungry at all. Today, I ate 10 chocolate chip cookies. Don't ask why. They were just so good and I couldn't stop. Anyway, we go to the doc tomorrow for our 34 week checkup. I hope everything is well. I don't know how I'll make it 6 more weeks!

Beautiful Gardenias

We have a few Gardenia bushes and Steven loves to cut blooms because we love the smell. These are from our old bush that probably has been here since the house. (48 years). Anyway, they are so pretty and I just love having them in the house. I put these in a bud vase by the kitchen sink so they give off a pleasant smell when I'm doing dreaded household chores. Enjoy!

Peggy Palmer Weaver is 32 weeks.

Today, Peggy Palmer is 32 weeks. We decided to name her Peggy Palmer about two weeks ago. Her namesake comes from her Aunt Peggy, my sister, me, (my middle name is Palmer), and my maternal grandmother, the original Peggy Palmer. We considered several other precious names but I couldn't imagine not naming her this. Since we don't have any living Peggys anymore, I thought it would be a beautiful way to honor my sister and my grandmother. Steven and I have yet to decide if we will call her Peggy Palmer or just Peggy. I am thinking it will probably get shortened to just Peggy even if we start out with the double name. Anyway, today she is 32 weeks. We had our 32 week appointment and everything was great! Yay! Finally, I had an uneventful doctor appointment! I go back in 2 weeks at 34 weeks and then at 36 I go every week. We are getting very excited and can't wait to meet our new baby, (sorry, Gwen) Peggy Palmer.

The Adventures of The Weaver Cats

Since Peggy Palmer will be here in 8 weeks, the cats have begun their treck to the great outdoors. Tiger, Violet, and Gwenevere play outside for short periods of time everyday. I can see them out of the kitchen or den so I usually don't worry. Today, I decided to give them some independent time while I paid bills and did laundry. When I looked outside to check on them, I saw no cats. This scared me. Violet and Tiger came back in and I hadn't noticed. However, I could not find baby Gwenevere anywhere! I freaked since she is our baby(even if just for a few more weeks). I called her and looked everywhere in the yard. Then, I called Steven and he said he would come home to look for her. I called him again on his way home and he suggested that I tap on a can. (Gwenevere always comes for this). Lo and behold, Gwen came flying out of the house! She was inside asleep somewhere the entire time! Anyway, when the cats want to go out and they can't for some reason, they love to sit in the windows. Their new favorite spot is my bathroom window. Here are some pics of the kitties in the window. Notice Violet did not get a seat this time.
