Sleeping In My Bed All Night Is No Fun
Peg has been learning to stay in her crib all night. This has been extremely hard for Steven and me as well as Peggy. Before she was born, I told myself, "I will never be the parent that has the child in the bed." Hahaha. Then I learned after she got here, sometimes you have to do whatever works so you can just function the next day. Peggy has never been a good sleeper since day one. We always had to put her down dead asleep (mistake number one). That seemed to work for a while. In fact, before Christmas and before I went back to school and Peggy started day care, she was in her bed all night. It was so nice to have my nights back and not be prisoner to holding her until she was absolutely out. Then, the ear infections started. Every week, Peg had an ear infection or some other illness and I just felt plain guilty about leaving her all day. So the co sleeping began. Peggy would start out the night in her bed and then wake up crying. One of us would go get her and then she would be in our bed the rest of the night. Fast forward to now. Peggy is in her bed crying her little eyes out for naptime. We've pretty much gotten nighttime down when I put her in her bed drowsy but not asleep. She may fuss for a minute or two but then she goes down. Naps have proved much more difficult. Peg refuses to take a nap in her bed longer than 30 minutes. She has been crying for almost one hour now. This is not fun but I hope a little pain on both our parts now will turn into wonderful nights and naps in the future.
