Peg Is One!!
On Saturday, July 31st, we had Peggy's first birthday party. She actually turned one on Wednesday the 28th so we had a fun filled week of celebrations. All week, I was thinking about how fleeting childhood is. When I was a kid and my mom would always say, "It seems just like yesterday...." I now know what she means. It really does seem just like yesterday that Peggy came into this world and became a member of our family. Peg has gone from a helpless little tiny baby to a busy, high-energy toddler. Last night when Steven was rocking her to sleep, I snuck in to take a peek. Steven and I whispered to each other how big she has gotten and what a cute little person she is. I remember thinking when we came home from the hospital, "How in the %$&# am I going to do this?" I thought then at the one year mark I would be celebrating making it one year. Instead, I was thinking back to my tiny little baby and how she has changed so much this year. Steven and I have gone from a life of doing exactly what we wanted to do to being Mommy and Daddy. I must say my life is so full of joy now and though difficult at times, is better than I could have ever imagine! Anyway, Peggy, I love you more than you will ever know.I am so happy to be your mom.

Sleeping In My Bed All Night Is No Fun
Peg has been learning to stay in her crib all night. This has been extremely hard for Steven and me as well as Peggy. Before she was born, I told myself, "I will never be the parent that has the child in the bed." Hahaha. Then I learned after she got here, sometimes you have to do whatever works so you can just function the next day. Peggy has never been a good sleeper since day one. We always had to put her down dead asleep (mistake number one). That seemed to work for a while. In fact, before Christmas and before I went back to school and Peggy started day care, she was in her bed all night. It was so nice to have my nights back and not be prisoner to holding her until she was absolutely out. Then, the ear infections started. Every week, Peg had an ear infection or some other illness and I just felt plain guilty about leaving her all day. So the co sleeping began. Peggy would start out the night in her bed and then wake up crying. One of us would go get her and then she would be in our bed the rest of the night. Fast forward to now. Peggy is in her bed crying her little eyes out for naptime. We've pretty much gotten nighttime down when I put her in her bed drowsy but not asleep. She may fuss for a minute or two but then she goes down. Naps have proved much more difficult. Peg refuses to take a nap in her bed longer than 30 minutes. She has been crying for almost one hour now. This is not fun but I hope a little pain on both our parts now will turn into wonderful nights and naps in the future.
Thank God for this blog!!!!
Well, I promise it won't be thing along ever again. Our summer has been so busy and I just haven't taken the time to sit down and post many pictures or write anything. To begin with, I must say I am so thankful that I blogged and posted pictures of Peggy over this last year. About two weeks ago, my computer crashed and I lost most of my photos that I took of Peggy over the last year. I was able to recover some of them but most were lost. I know you are thinking, "What about the backup?" Well we lost that too. Anyway, I do have some Picasa web pics and needless to say, I have learned my lesson about not only backing up but posting pictures on a web based location and printing them out. Back to the blog. I am so thankful I have the pics from the blog of Peggy. The ones I posted were always my absolute favorite that I took of her. I am going to have my blog postings made into a scrap book. I also plan to post regularly from here on out. Check out the next post!!
